    Found Technics amp/receiver and took information technology in . Upon ability up it goes into thermal
    protect with speakers on or non. Even with headphones it goes thermal. Is in that location
    a way to locate the controlling part and eliminate it ?

    With your meter attack continuity check the negative and positive speaker
    terminals for a short. They should read open and if even on side is reading
    shorted. The amp will go into protect fashion. I notice it is usually always just
    one aqueduct or side that is shorted. If that is the case, then you tin can notice
    the bad components fairly like shooting fish in a barrel by testing the good side components against
    the shorted side. You can do this with them in circuit, just will have to
    pull the ones that test bad out to be sure.
    I merely repaired 2 Phoenix Gold amps that had this aforementioned problem. One simply
    needed a new transistor and the other one had two bad mosfet's.
